I’ve been homeschooling since I failed to put our oldest on the bus to kindergarten in 2006. Our family includes a 7-year-old son, 11- and 12-year-old daughters, a big dog, a turtle, my husband, me, and whatever pets my kids have talked us into lately. We are “whatever works” homeschoolers — we draw from lots of methods and I am immensely grateful for the depth of knowledge available in the homeschool community about how kids learn. We live in the outer suburbs and spend a lot of time in the car, taking advantage of everything the Twin Cities has to offer! I became involved with MHA because I wanted there to be a homeschool science fair, and MHA agreed to support it. I’m looking forward to helping MHA with all they do for Minnesota homeschoolers!
