Hi, I’m Michelle Dudley. I can barely believe I’ve been homeschooling my two boys for nine years already! We accidentally fell into homeschooling after my oldest son had a tough couple of years in public school, and we decided to homeschool him temporarily while we looked for a better school.
We soon discovered home was the best “school” of all for him and his younger brother. It was the luckiest accident of my life — I can’t imagine now not having had these years together! We have a very eclectic learning style and spend much of our time reading books together or getting out into the community by going to plays, concerts, parks, and museums.
I joined the MHA board in 2012 after enjoying volunteering at various MHA events over the last few years. I love homeschooling and feel it is important to have an inclusive organization here in Minnesota. By serving on the MHA board, I hope to work to make a difference in the lives of other homeschoolers in our area. I think finding and building community with other homeschoolers is the key to a great homeschool journey. My family is very fortunate to have found a wonderful group of supportive families to share our time with, and I hope that my work on the board can help others find that, too!
